THERE have been two road accidents this morning, Wednesday, March 6, which are causing difficulties for motorists in the Crediton area.

The A377 was partially blocked in both directions between Downes Bridge Corner and Five Elms Lane, Newton St Cyres, following a road accident.

This has resulted in long tailbacks.

There has also been a road traffic accident on the A377 between Lapford and Morchard Road which partially closed the road.

It has been particularly foggy and icy this morning.

Inspector David Thurbron of Devon and Cornwall Police said on X that there have been “a fair few reports of RTCs all around Devon this morning, in particular around Crediton and rural Tiverton”.

He continued: “Please be aware of the lower temperatures, road conditions and your speed.”
