A CHARITY darts match, organised by Crystal Jordan and Chris Back of Lewdown, will be played in Okehampton at the Charter Hall on Saturday, June 3.
Kevin Painter "The Artist" PDV World Championship runner up, will play the exhibition match to raise money for the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
Chris and Crystal’s son Jax weighed just 988 grams (2lbs) at birth.
His first few hours were critical and when he was less than two weeks old he contracted sepsis.
Jax battled the illness for more than two months before he was finally able to leave NICU and go home with his parents.
Crystal, who is the daughter of Sarah Chown of Copplestone, said: "After spending 66 days in NICU and getting to know most of the staff, we finally took our little boy home weighing 6lb 2oz.
"The staff made everything as easy as they possibly could for us and the care they gave myself and my family, especially my son, was unquestionable.
"We would now like to raise some money for them to say thank you and to help them continue to support families like ours."
A raffle will also take place and tickets can be purchased from Valerie Barker Jewellers at 114 High Street. For more information telephone Sarah Chown on 07855 829972.
All of the money raised at the darts match and raffle will be donated to Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital’s NICU which provides care for premature, very small or unwell babies.
