IN more recent times Lapford Old School has been a Youth Club for the area.
Due to the unsafe condition of the building it was forced to close its doors a few years ago and was recently put on the market.
To celebrate the life of The Old School, local artists Rebecca Holley, Chris Rees and Tim Salter have created work inspired by the building and its surroundings.
An exhibition to showcase some of this work is to be staged at The Ark, Lapford during Lapford Revel Week. The artwork will be accompanied by a slide show of the building today, the artists working and historical photos, with readings from The Old School Log Books by Lapford retired Headmaster, Noel Parry.
The exhibition will be open on Tuesday, July 11, from 11am to 3pm, Thursday, July 13 from 6pm to 9pm, Friday, July 14 from 11am to 3pm, Saturday, July 15 from 10am to 12 noon and 2pm to 5pm and on Sunday, July 16 from 4pm to 6pm.
Refreshments will be served and on Saturday afternoon Yeo Valley Christian Fellowship will be providing cream teas.
The whole exhibition has been supported by Lapford Project 2000, The Ark and Lapford Revel.
