CREDITON Lions Club member Eric Parkes was recently honoured at the Lions Club International District 105SW Annual Convention, receiving the Lions Club International President’s Fabricio Oliveira’s award.

The award is the second highest honour that can be bestowed on any Lion and there are just a handful of holders in the UK.

It was presented in recognition of the 47 years that Eric has served both the Crediton community and the South West District of England.

Eric said it was both a surprise and tremendous pride to have been awarded the International President’s medal.

He paid tribute to all the Lions of Crediton for their help and support over the years.

Eric is the last surviving Charter Member when the Crediton Club was formed in November 1997.
