VOLUNTEERS took part in the latest [CUT!] (Crediton Urban Taskforce) street cleaning action in Spruce Park in the town on Saturday, June 15.
Weeds were removed, litter was removed and pavements made clean and tidy.
Councillor Natalia Letch thanked all those who took part.
She continued: “When we started [CUT!] in April 2024, we built up a list of events to make our Town tidier and prettier.
“Now, moving towards August, we need your ideas to identify some more places in Crediton desperate for cleaning.
“Please contact the ‘Crediton Courier’ or Crediton Town Council if you think that your area needs a good tidy up!”
She continued: “On Saturday, June 29, we plan to concentrate our efforts on Jockey Hill following public request.
“The weeds on that street are massively overgrown!
“On the right side (going toward Sandford) the pedestrian path has completely disappeared under branches of brambles and perennial bushes; cleaning it requires an industrial approach.
“Hopefully, Crediton Town Council may organise it in consultation with the owners of the nearby properties.
“[CUT!] volunteers are going to concentrate efforts on the left side of Jockey Hill, which still requires a lot of work and probably will need an additional session.
“We want to mention that [CUT!] do not use any chemicals to exterminate the weeds; we only use our hands and some garden tools which we are going to supply to volunteers when they come to join us in our action.
“Please come and support our Jockey Hill cleaning event on Saturday, June 29, at any time from 3pm to 6pm.
“We look forward to seeing you.”
