THE 2024 Annual General Meeting of the Redlands League of Friends was held at the Redlands Surgery in Crediton on Monday, June 17.

The meeting was attended by the outgoing committee, members of the surgery staff and members of the public.

Reports were made by the various committee members for their areas of responsibility.

It was reported that the finances of the league are healthy, and are available for any foreseeable requirements.

We were also given an update of the running of the surgery, by one of the partners.

It was reported that, together with Thorverton, the surgery has 17,000 patients registered with them, but only a fraction are members of the League. We were advised that a member of the League has volunteered to join the committee, which is welcome news.

In accordance with agreements made when the League was formed, Mrs S Job stood down as Chairman, and became Vice Chairman.

The position of Chairman was taken up by Mr S J Willis.  The remaining positions remain as previously.

Mrs Job was thanked for all her hard work during the formative years of the League as was Mrs K Hoskins for standing in during the period when the League was without a secretary. The previous secretary retired due to health problems. The new secretary, Mrs V Jones was welcomed by all present.

A number of events are planned for later this year. The first is for an Open Garden and Cream tea event to be held at 7 Winswood, on Sunday, July 7 from 2pm.
