THE Royal Horticultural Society Garden Rosemoor Flower Show is coming up this weekend.
It will take place at the 65-acre attraction near Great Torrington from tomorrow, August 16 to Sunday, August 18.
“If you are looking for the ultimate summer’s day out, you’ll find the annual RHS Rosemoor Flower Show hard to beat,” a spokesperson said.
“Whether you are a gardener or just enjoy relaxing with friends and family, everyone can appreciate the stunning floral displays and huge range of plants on sale, inspirational demonstrations and live music, all set in these gorgeous gardens.
“Browse and buy quality plants from specialist and local nurseries, offering a huge choice of grasses, flowers, shrubs, houseplants and more.
“Visitors can take a piece of Rosemoor home with them from the garden centre which offers everything from summer flowering perennials to shrubs and ornamental trees.
“You will also find trade stands in the orchard field where you can view garden furniture, lighting and accessories to help you enjoy your outdoor rooms all year round.
“Speak to knowledgeable growers and RHS experts to get the best advice on how to care for the plants you already have or discover some more unusual plants or ones that will thrive in problem areas.
“Internationally celebrated floral designer Jonathan Moseley will delight on stage with twice-daily flower arranging demonstrations, whilst other hugely respected flower arrangers, including Alison Penno, will share their skills with the opportunity for visitors to take their arrangements home.
“Families can also find plenty of fun with children’s entertainment and games plus the fabulous ‘Great Garden Adventure with Shaun the Sheep’ throughout the garden. Look out for the arrangements in various shelters based on the theme ‘The Great Garden Adventure’, courtesy of the creativity of Devonshire Flower Clubs.
“Treat yourselves to a delicious take away Devon cream tea whilst enjoying the full programme of music on the lawn by the Wisteria Tearoom or, for the ultimate treat, try a decadent afternoon tea with garden views in the garden restaurant (advance booking only).
“However you spend your day, you can be sure to find something to inspire you.”
There will also be a floral art competition in the garden room, featuring classes for all levels of expertise.
Everyone with an interest is encouraged to enter – request a form to apply by email from [email protected].
