RESIDENTS of Mid Devon may have been surprised by the sight of 4x4 vehicles, clearly marked "Devon and Cornwall 4x4 Response" driving through some of our more inaccessible areas recently.

The organisation is a Registered Charity, which provides Services to the Local Authorities, the NHS, Emergency Services and other Agencies across the region.

When snow falls, Devon and Cornwall 4x4 Response may be found driving NHS Staff, Carers and Police to their destinations.

During the past 12 months, the Response teams have delivered more than 600,000 items of PPE for NHS Devon CCG, plus many other organisations across the two counties.

Some of the group are currently helping by testing the Emergency Services Radio Signal Strength in rural areas and mapping the results.
