Activities co-ordinator Vanessa Edwards explained: “We have previously held French and Italian cafes where we sampled the food and wine of those countries, and this time it was the turn of Germany.
“We were joined by Andrew Dayton and John Smith our Tesco Community Team friends.
“The room was decorated with German flags and we listened to some German folk music.
“We tried lots of German food including bratwurst, rye bread, frankfurters, salami, gherkins and smoked cheeses, followed by Battenberg cake and black forest gateaux.
“And of course, the food was washed down with two different types of German wine and the residents voted on which one they liked best.
“It was a great afternoon and the residents really enjoyed sampling the different foods and wine.
“The residents have decided that the next stop on our culinary journey will be Greece!”
