CREDITON High Street pub The Kirton Cow could be allowed to host live music events and more until late if councillors give it the thumbs-up this week.
Formerly known as The General Sir Redvers Buller and owned by JD Wetherspoon, the pub is now in the hands of Clarkan Trading Ltd.
The new owners want to have permission for live music outdoors in the beer garden between 10am and 9pm; live music, plays, dancing and similar entertainment such as pub quizzes and bingo indoors between 10am and 12.30am; and recorded music indoors and outdoors between 7am and 12.30am.
All the times applied for would be seven days a week. The pub said it would keep a decibel meter on site and do regular volume checks, and shut the beer garden an hour before closing.
Mid Devon District Council’s licensing sub-committee will decide on Friday, April 26 whether to grant the pub permission.
