CREDITON Town Council has shut the Newcombes Meadow toilet block temporarily as its door handle has been torn off.
The gender-neutral public loo will reopen as soon as a new handle has been installed.
The council also hopes graffiti that appeared recently on the sign will be able to be cleaned off.
The toilet block is covered by CCTV 24 hours a day, but the council has asked anyone who knows anything about it to get in touch.
You can contact Crediton Town Council by telephone on 01363 773717 or by email at [email protected].
You can also report information to the local Crediton police team on 101.
Vandalism of the external fob and internal emergency exit system also shut the Newcombes Meadow toilet block in March 2021 just two weeks after it reopened.
The town council said it is “still working hard” with Mid Devon District Council to install a new toilet facility in Newcombes Meadow near the play area.
