THE weather was glorious when the fantastic garden at Frogbury, Coldridge was opened in aid of the Red Cross, by the owner, Mr Jeremy Lee, on Sunday, June 16.

People started arriving at about 1pm with a steady stream right through until 5pm.

The beautiful garden has a collection of elms and orchards as well as several newly planted wildflower beds and four ponds.

Delicious teas were served by Red Cross volunteers and there were woodland walks and guided tours.

Mr Lee said: “About 400 people in total turned up, which was a great success.

“The total raised so far including donations, entrance fee, raffle and teas is just over £11,000 which will be going off to the Red Cross for onward transmission to Ukraine and Gaza.

“All-in-all a wonderful day with plenty of support for which I was most grateful.”
