A FUN-filled afternoon has been arranged to celebrate the day on which we remember St Boniface, the Patron Saint of Devon and to help raise funds for the work of Crediton Parish Church.
All are invited to attend the event tomorrow, Saturday, June 5, from 2pm to 5pm, in the church, the churchyard and the Boniface Centre.
In the church there will be live music including "Etchechuria" (Jack and Beth Robson) and a Treasure Trail, together with items for sale on a bric-a-brac stall and in the Church Shop.
In the churchyard, there will be a Treasure Trail and also, those attending are invited to take part in the "Count on Nature", but children must be accompanied by an adult for this activity.
The count forms part of Love Your Burial Ground Week (a joint initiative promoted by Caring for God’s Acre, A Rocha UK, the Church of England and the Church in Wales).
It aims to engage churches and their local community with nature through counting wildlife in churchyards and to increase people’s interest in their churchyard.
Those taking part record the species of wildlife and plants found and the results are combined and collated with others on the National Biodiversity Network (NBN), a nationwide database of wildlife in the UK.
Devon teas will be served in the Boniface Centre from 2pm. And if the weather’s nice, you might want to enjoy your tea in the churchyard.
Admission is free with free car parking available.
All the proceeds will go to support the work of Crediton Parish Church. For further information, contact 07960 388198 or Anne on 01363 772865.
• Prayers will be said at the statue in Newcombes Meadow at 1pm.
