THERE were books galore at Cheriton Bishop Primary School Book Fair.
Books, hundreds of them, all ages and sizes, for tiny children upwards, from almost 2,000-page dictionaries, books about ballet or horse care, so many gardening or cookery books, travel and lots and lots of fiction.
Fascinating just to browse. The biggest book there was one with fabulous photographs all about military aircraft, it was huge - and not exactly light - “Military Aircraft in Flight” by Michael Sharpe.
Books on health, royalty, Tai Chi, history, travel, just about everything you could think of and lots more besides including jigsaw puzzles or a copy of “The Koran” or two sets of “Fifty Shades of Grey” series.
Funds raised, £510, were for the Spalding Hall, a neighbour to Cheriton Bishop Primary School.
Books from Cheriton have helped stock the new library at Hittisleigh for which shelving is needed. There was a small collection of books at Hittisleigh Village Hall, with the ceasing of the Mobile Library Service, it was decided to expand this. Check the Hittisleigh Hub to find out more.
Books were not priced but people were invited to make a donation for the Spalding Hall.
