THE Beer Engine, in Newton St Cyres, hosted a fantastic quiz night raising money for Farm Africa this month.
The quiz attracted more than 80 people, in 16 teams, battling it out over five rounds to be crowned quiz champions.
The evening raised £830 for Farm Africa – a charity helping families and communities in East Africa.
It is a charity close to the heart of locals, Rob and Alissa Haward, who are both running the London Marathon for Farm Africa in April.
Rob said: “We are so grateful to Will and Vicki, (the Beer Engine owners), for hosting the pub quiz and to all the people who enjoyed the quiz and supported our cause.
“The money is a big step towards our target of raising £2,500.”
Congratulations goes to Gretchen, Alan and Laurie in the team “Three’s Nora Crowd” for being crowned the winners in a closely fought contest.
