FIREFIGHTERS from Witheridge put out an early morning chimney fire in a property at Chawleigh this morning, Wednesday, December 20.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service was first alerted to the fire at 6.43am.
The crew extinguished the fire using chimney rods, a stirrup pump and a thermal image camera.
The cause of the fire was accidental.
The crew left the scene at 8am.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service attends more than 300 domestic chimney fires each year.
