MORE than 544 properties in the Crediton area were without power earlier this evening, Western Power announced.

The High Voltage incident occurred at about 5pm and supplies for most of those affected in EX17 Postcode areas were restored at about 5.15pm.

Some Crediton residents report the power returning within minutes but others in the Crediton, Upton Hellions and other areas said it did not return for about quarter of an hour.UPDATE AT 7.45PM: 63 Crediton area properties likely to be without power until 11pmWESTERN Power has been having serious problems in the Crediton area this evening (December 25) and has now confirmed that 63 properties are likely to be without power until 11pm.The problem is a High Voltage incident.The areas affected are: EX17 4AE, EX17 4AF, EX17 4BR, EX17 1DG, EX17 1AB, EX17 4AD, EX17 4AB, EX17 1AE, EX17 1AD, EX17 4BS, EX17 1AF, EX17 1AP and EX17 1AG.Between 5pm and 5.15pm this evening 544 Crediton area homes were without power.If you required priority assistance, Western Power says please call 0800 6783 105.
