BOTH of the Danes Castle, Exeter, fire appliances and the Water Bowser have attended a Skip Lorry on fire near Longdown, during the evening of Wednesday, May 10. 

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said that the vehicle was well alight within a locked compound on arrival.

The spokesperson added: “Crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to gain entry and extinguish the fire using breathing apparatus, a hose reel and an attack jet.”
