DEVON and Cornwall Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information in connection with a report of theft of a red Honda quad bike from an outbuilding on a farm in the Chulmleigh area.
This took place sometime between 6pm on Thursday, October 24 and 8am on Friday, October 25.
The police ask that farmers and members of the public remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
It says, please telephone 999 if you believe a crime is taking place and make a note of vehicle details and descriptions.
Police offer the following prevention advice:
• check outbuildings regularly, consider reviewing security and the use of locks, security lighting/CCTV etc
• consider the use of clamps/locks and tracking systems on quad bikes
• immobilise vehicles and machinery in a lockable building or out of sight
• remove and secure keys away from vehicles
• secure gates and block unused entrances
• keep a record of serial numbers, photograph vehicles/equipment and note any unique features.
