Many motorists in vehicles larger than a car are having to reverse up Church Street to Belle Parade often causing many vehicles to have to reverse.

Crediton Town Council says it has received a lot of communication about the vehicles and says it has emailed Devon County Council, as the Highways Authority, and Crediton Police.

Crediton Police have been on the scene for the last few hours and have now closed the road.

They have been able to trace the owner of the VW Camper van and this has now been removed.

The car is still causing a serious obstruction and both would have prevented an ambulance or fire engine from passing.

It is anticipated that the car will be towed away to resolve the issue.
