AS part of the King’s Coronation “Big Help Out”, more than 50 Copplestone residents took part in a Spring Clean and Litter Pick around the village from 10am until 11.30am on Bank Holiday Monday, May 8.

Many bags of litter were collected, the bus shelter was scrubbed and also pressure washed.

All ages took part in the event, after which everyone was treated to free bacon butties (funded by Copplestone Parish Council).

Organiser Suzanne Lunn, said: “It was a brilliant event.

“It was fantastic that 50 volunteers came to help.  We have cleaned and tidied up the village as part of the ‘Big Help Out’.

“I would like to thank everyone who came along, the Parish Council which funded the refreshments and the Methodist Church for allowing use of the hall.

“It has made a real difference.”

Local District Councillor Stuart Penny added: “I would like to thank Suzanne and John for organising this event and to everyone for all their hard work.

“It has been great to take part in the ‘Big Help Out’ and really makes a difference in our community.”
