A Neighbourhood Food Collection was recently held at the Crediton Tesco store at Wellparks as part of the National Foodbank Summer Collection across all Tesco stores.

Shaun Jordan-Lewis, who co-ordinated the collection at the Crediton store, said: “We have been overwhelmed by the support of all our customers who have donated so generously to this much needed charity.

“We would also like to thank all the Foodshare and Crediton Foodbank volunteers who came along to support and for giving their time to talk to our customers and for raising the importance of our local foodbank. “Together, between everyone, we have collected a fantastic 86 boxes of donated items.

“We organise collections like this twice a year but we do have a permanent Crediton foodbank donation stand in our store which is located at the back of our checkouts and is collected by our foodbank volunteers on a regular basis.

“We would like to thank all of our customers again for their kind and generous donations that make our in-store collections such a success.”
