South Molton Colts 7 - Crediton Colts 68
CREDITON RFC Colts enjoyed a hastily arranged friendly at South Molton and recorded a convincing win.
Almost the entire squad was given game time in a game that we dominated from start to finish.
George Baxter led the scoring with three tries and nine conversions, Charlie Cookson also had a hat-trick of tries and there was a try apiece for Marcus Johns, Harry Gulley, Joe Stanbury and Monty Charteris.
On Saturday the First XV have the final league game of the season at home against second from bottom Truro. That will wrap the season up for the First XV.
The Quins having had a weekend off, finish their league campaign with a trip to New Cross who will be keen to grab a win to secure the runners up spot.
For the Thirds and Colts there is still much to play for as the Colts embark on the knock out stage of the Devon Colts Cup with a home game against Sidmouth Colts.
It seems somewhat of an oddity that Sidmouth remain in the Competition having failed to fulfil the last three fixtures in the league programme, such are the vagaries of how some Cup competitions work.
For the Thirds, what a month April could be. John Gurzynski’s team are guaranteed a semi final spot in the David Butt Memorial Trophy where they will meet one out of Devonport Thirds, University of Plymouth Thirds or Plymouth Medics.
However, in order to have the advantage of the home venue, a victory away at Exmouth Thirds on Saturday will need to be achieved.
Currently, the Thirds and Barnstaple Thirds are tied at the top of the Devon Merit Table on 91 points each with one game to play, things could not be closer.
