MEMBERS at Lords Meadow Leisure Centre in Crediton have received welcome upgrades in time to kick-start a healthy New Year.
Mid Devon Leisure is thrilled to announce the successful completion of a comprehensive equipment upgrade, enhancing the fitness experience for members.
With an investment of £135,000, it says that this significant improvement project underscores the service’s commitment to providing top quality facilities for our community.
More than 20 pieces of equipment have been upgraded.
The upgrades feature cutting-edge additions such as wireless charging and USB ports, contactless digital login for enhanced security, and improved Bluetooth connectivity.
Highlighting the commitment to variety in workout options, the leisure centre has introduced:
• Two advanced performance treadmills that improve shock absorption, making for a more comfortable and smoother run.
• Three Connexus Columns that will turn empty wall space into versatile functional training stations through connecting secure straps and resistance bands.
• Two state-of-the-art RXP Rowers, offering diverse and engaging exercise possibilities.
To implement these upgrades seamlessly, the gym temporarily closed for two days, allowing new equipment to be safely installed and integrated.
Looking ahead, Lords Meadow Leisure Centre has exciting plans for further enhancements.
The development of a back room into a functional space, complete with new flooring, lighting, and wall art, is in the pipeline. Additionally, a similar equipment upgrade is scheduled for Culm Valley Sports Centre, Cullompton in late 2024.
Councillor David Wulff, Cabinet Member for Community and Leisure, said: “Mid Devon Leisure is dedicated to fostering a healthy and vibrant community, and these upgrades mark a significant step in that direction.
“Notably, despite the substantial investment in these improvements, we are pleased to confirm that membership prices will not be increasing.
"Our commitment to affordability and accessibility remains unwavering as we strive to make fitness accessible to everyone in our community.”
