CREDITON angler, Alvin King landed the heaviest specimen, a common weighing 24lbs 12oz, last week at Creedy Lakes, Crediton.
Alvin chose to fish three-quarters of the way up on the right bank. After a slower start than usual his patience was nicely rewarded when he hooked the new personal best catch.
The heaviest green tench weighing 6lbs 2oz was landed by Crediton local angler, Mick Youles, whilst fishing at the top end of the right bank.
Another Crediton angler, Mike Izzard spent a good proportion of his day fishing beside the old boathouse on the left bank after moving swims.
Using his favourite surface method, Mike had regular action throughout the day session and finished his day with a total of 11 carp up to 21lbs 6oz.
Dan Heale, from Lapford, enjoyed a short session and decided to fish on the far bank out in the open water in front of him. He hooked two nice commons best of 20lbs 2oz, the other being 13lbs in weight.
Steve Tancock from New Buildings had a couple of bends in the rods on the bank and hooked out two nice specimen commons weighing 14lbs 5oz and 18lbs 10oz.
