A FOURBALL Better Ball Stableford competition was played at Okehampton Golf Club on Saturday, August 19.

The winners of Division One were Evan Rees and Bryan Evans with 46 points.

Redd Cann and Lee Carey were second with 44 points, Malcolm Hooper and Richard Prouse were third with 43 points and
Byron Porter, and Simon James were fourth also with 43 points.

Division Two was won by Frank Nowell and Nick Reilly with 46 points, Steve Squire and Steve Pole were second with 45 points, Steve Browne and Brian May were third with 44 points and Richard and Clare Salter were fourth with 43 points.

The ladies section played an Individual Stableford competition and the winner of Division One was Lynn Hazelton with 39 points, Sue Stanbury was second with 34 points and Penny Deakin was third with 33 points.

Elaine Marwood was the winner of Division Two with 30 points, Lin Atkinson was second with 29 points and following into third place was Clare Salter with 28 points.

The Ladies President’s team earned themselves a place in the County quarter-finals which were recently held at Yelverton where they were up against the ladies from Staddon Heights.

Okehampton managed to hold their own and achieved a 4 – 3 victory they are now through to the semi-finals at Torquay where they will take on Royal North Devon.
