OKEHAMPTON Golf Club held a three ball two to count Seniors open competition on Monday, July 15 which saw overall winners, John Sargent, J Court and R Millett from Tiverton, narrowly beat Richard Johnson, Ivan Caws and D Alford from Okehampton and Holsworthy on the back three, all achieving 80 points.
The best visitor prize went to D Vowden, L Taylor and D Wright from Crediton with 79 points and the second visitor prize was taken by R Stevens, J Maynard and C Wayman from Fingle and Exeter with 78 points.
On Saturday, July 20 a men’s individual open was contested and the format was 18 holes stableford with full handicap and the top three players all attained 41 points. After countback the overall winner was Malcolm Hill, Stuart Brealy was second and Phil Atherton was third.
The ladies section entered a stableford competition for the President’s Salver and the winner of the Silver Division was Sue Stanbury with 38 points, Frances Harbron was second with 37 points and Sue Williams was third with 35 points.
Jan Edwards was the winner of the Bronze Division and the President’s salver with 39 points, Pam Jarman was second with 38 points after countback on the back nine from, in third Sue Davies.
Congratulations also to Lin Atkinson who had a hole-in-one on the 15th.
