ONCE again Tedburn St Mary Judo Club showed their worth when three students attended the Cornish Open Championship held in Redruth at the Carn Brae Leisure Centre.

Despite them all fighting people above their weight categories, the Club came away with one gold, one silver and one bronze medal.

Eddie, making his debut at the Cornish championships, fought extremely well, beating all three of his opponents to win a gold medal, and become the Cornish champion in his weight category.

Lily once again proved her worth and won two out of three of her fights against heavier and higher graded opponents. She came away with a silver medal.

Logan also fought extremely well against opponents at least two grades higher than himself, and secured a bronze medal.

All of them fought to a very high standard.

“I am very proud of their achievements” said Sensei Allen.

“They are a credit to our club and their parents.”

He added: “We would also like to thank the parents who continue to support the club year in year out.”

If anyone is interested in taking up this sport, please get in touch with Sensei Allen on 07745 940149 for more information.
