SUNDAY, May 22 saw Crediton Youth FC Under 9’s organise the ever popular Kirton Cup again.
This year’s invitation event saw 12 teams take part, including sides from Brixington, Culm Sampford, Dawlish, Galmpton, Moors Youth, Southgate, Stoke Gabriel and Total 14.
Four pitches were in play on a fine sunny morning at Lords Meadow.
Once again, the standard of football on display was superb and many of the visiting sides were full of praise of the event and the facilities on-hand.
Unfortunately, both Crediton sides just missed out on reaching the later stages of the tournament. Stoke Gabriel went on to win the final, with Total 14 as runners-up.
Other results at the weekend saw Crediton Youth U8’s travel to Holsworthy for a friendly and return with a narrow win, courtesy of goals from Archie Short and Neneh Richards.
Player of the Match awards going to Archie Short and Joey Carpenter.
The U9 girls hosted Exmouth United and had one win and one defeat.
