A GROUP of young people, Year 9 students at Queen Elizabeth’s School in Crediton, have organised a six-a-side football tournament to be held in November to raise money for the Children’s Hospice South West.
It will be played at Lords Meadow Leisure Centre on Sunday, November 19.
Registration is now being taken for teams, entries close on Wednesday, November 8 or earlier if all the spaces are filled.
This is for teams of eight to 14 years-old players, cost is £1 per player and a maximum of two subs per team.
There will be a prize for the winning team and for the team with the best fancy dress. The organising team will be dressed as unicorns.
All abilities are welcome, so are spectators and there will be refreshments.
One of the organisers, Agnes Olsson, says: “We think it will be a really good opportunity for players of mixed ages, abilities and genders to play together in a relaxed environment whilst also raising money for a really good cause and eating lots of cake!”
