CREDITON Youth FC U16’s took on Alphington at Lords Meadow as two of the top sides went head to head.
The game was a great advert for youth football as two very competitive sides played out a thoroughly entertaining game, which was superbly refereed.
Goals from Dan Burgess and Rhys Ebdy saw the Creddy lads run out 2-0 winners.
It was County Cup action for the U15’s as they travelled to Plymouth to take on Marine Academy Kings with a depleted side.
Despite going in front with a Tomas Harris goal they eventually lost out 3-1. But their coaches were so impressed by their work rate as they were in the game right up until the last minute when Kings sealed their victory.
The U14’s returned from Central Athletic with all three points after a 5-2 victory. Jimmy Orchard and Luis Matthews both got doubles with Will Hopkins also on the scoresheet.
It was league cup heartbreak for the U13’s as they lost out on penalties at Whipton Youth. The tie finished at one each with.
Harvey Rickard got the Crediton goal.
The U12’s continued their fine form with a 1-0 win away at Okehampton courtesy of an Ollie Dallyn goal.
Also away from home were the U11’s who lost out to Brixington Blues.
Noah Pugsley and Oscar Wilk got their goals, but Ed Wride put in a player of the match performance in goal for them.
There were plenty of goals for the U10’s as they hosted sides from West Exe Youth, but they had to settle for two wins and two defeats.
Amongst the goal scorers for the Panthers were Ben Whelan, Charlie and Freddie Hayward, Lennie Wilmott, Lennon Young and goal keeper Jack Smith.
On target for the Pumas were Charlie Blake, Harry Shepherd, Oliver Novack and Tom Finney on his debut.
It was a similar story for the U9’s as they entertained sides from St Martins and Stoke Hill as they had two wins and two defeats.
Sunday saw the U18’s away at Clyst Valley. Greg Mildon and Harry Walsh got two each, with James Smith also on target as they edged out their hosts 5-3.
Evie Lewis led the scoring for the U16 girls away at Stoke Hill with five goals. Izzy Ferrante with another two completed a fine morning for them.
The U14 girls lost out away at Starcross Dons 5-0.
