WITH sporting fixtures off until December 2, hopefully with good weather and no virus cases within clubs, Lapford First Team will be away at Newtown Reserves on December 5.
Following, on December 14, we will be at home against our neighbours, Crediton United Reserves.
My records show me that the last time Lapford played matches against Newtown Reserves was in the 2016/17 season in Division Two, winning both matches.
So to Crediton United Reserves. That was a Devon Senior Cup tie at home on January 5, 2019, also winning by 2-1.
Of course Lapford lost in the semi-final 2-0 to the Windmill Reserves at Yelverton on March 9.
So now the Premier West Division League Table shows Thorverton on top having played seven matches with 16 points.
Next, in second spot is Lapford having played five and winning all five on 15 points.
Third are Elmore Reserves with 12 points from five played, and Exwick Villa Reserves next with 10 points from six played.
Yes I did watch the Remembrance service on tv from the Cenotaph with the War in Korea being mentioned a few times, which I was pleased about, having done training for that conflict as a National Serviceman conscript in 1951/52.
Here’s hoping for better times ahead for all.
Onwards and upwards, good luck everybody.
