CREDITON Youth Football Club Under 16’s played their last game of youth football on Saturday, May 19.

Playing on Crediton’s main pitch under cloudless skies, they played out a diplomatic 3-3 draw with local rivals Newton St Cyres. This match marked the end of an era for the Crediton boys who have been together since playing as Under Seven’s.

The team finished a creditable fourth in Division Two of the Exeter Youth League. The boys will now be looking forward to finishing their GCSE’s and will play in the Crediton Six-a-Side Tournament this month.

As the season ends, players and their parents wish to thank retiring Manager Chris Field who is to hang up his boots after devoting many hours to the team over the last nine years.

Thanks also go to Nigel Garside, Assistant Manager, and the band of many parent helpers who collect match fees, run the line, mark the pitch and help with transport etc.
