CREDITON U13 girls brought the league campaign’s to an end at Lords Meadow for Crediton Youth FC on Sunday morning.
After two disrupted season’s due to Covid, it was a great relief to see things finally get back to some normality and see all the Devon Girls League and Exeter and District Youth League fixtures completed.
It was always going to be a tough game against Newton Fire for the U13 girls against the league and cup champions. The Crediton girls put in a strong performance, and more than matched their opponents at times, but eventually went down 2-0.
The U11 girls had already finished their league campaign, and were very pleased with their record of 16 wins, three defeats and one draw.
They are already looking forward to next season and will be hoping to recruit more year six and year seven girls to join their squad.

The U15 boys clinched runners-up spot and promotion without even playing this week. Results elsewhere and a walk over saw them return to Division One for their final year of EDYL football. This is a great reward for the squad and to coaches Adrian Harvey and Steve Lethbridge for all their hard work.

A strong second half recovery saw them get back into the game, but despite a rousing finish they just fell short at 3-2. Casey Philp on target again for the home side.
In the second game the Crediton lads ran out 4-2 winners, with Brody Brookes, Harry Broome, Josh Stansfield, and Riley Stone getting the goals.
Stoke Hill were also the U8’s opponents at Lords Meadow. It was a tough day for them with three defeats and a draw. They bounced back on Sunday at the Exeter Panthers tournament gaining their first tournament success. Two early defeats saw them go into the Plate Semi Final.
They won this 1-0 and made it through to the final. Goals from Dexter Hughes and Leo Hargreaves gave them a 2-0 victory in the final, with Finn Cereda assisting with both goals.
