WHAT a bumper weekend of cup football it was for Crediton Youth FC sides.
The U16’s saw their way through to the next round of the EDYL cup with a 8-0 victory away at Okehampton.
On the scoresheet were Rhys Ebdy with a double, Ben Fantham, Joe Butland, McKenzie Isaac, Theodore Spivey and Zach Mildon.
There were lots of goals for the U15’s at Lords Meadow as they easily overcame Brixington Blues.
Seb Roche led the goal scoring with four, Zak Cheriet chipping in with a hat-trick, Alfie Williams Greenwood, Archie Smith and Jake Shepherd with an overhead kick also amongst the goals.
No games for the U13’s and 14’s as they both had byes, and the U12’s went through on penalties against Starcross Dons after the tie finished goalless.
The U12 development side also had cup action at Culm Sampford and edged out their hosts 3-2 with Thomas Levett getting two and Jenson Langabeer one.
The U11’s lost out to Okehampton and now have to concentrate on the Plate competition. Joey Carpenter and Oscar Smith got consolation goals.
Both U10 sides progressed. The Panthers won at home against Stoke Hill Juniors.
It finished all square at full time with Freddie Rose and Oliver Novack getting the Crediton goals.
Frank Parker got the winning penalty when it went to sudden death.
The Panthers progressed with a decent win away at Feniton Sharks. Ben Whelan, Charlie Haward, Charley Hiscock, Harry Shepherd, Lenon Young and Lennie Wilmott the goal scorers.
Only the U9 Pumas had a cup fixture and they went through at home against Lympstone Lions.
Alfie and Archie Vogwill, Ellis Buckingham, Luis Chenore and Toby Knight amongst the goals for them.
Later in the afternoon, the U9’s were joined at St James’ Park by the U8’s as they took part in the half time shoot out during the Exeter City game against Cambridge United.
It was an extra special day for Freddie Coombes as he was chosen as a match day mascot.
Last Sunday it was very busy at Lords Meadow with four girls sides in cup action.
The U16’s had a 6-3 victory against Tiverton Town Lionesses. Lily Anne Smith with a hat-trick, two from Izzy Ferrante and one from Ruby Turner saw them through.
It was a 3-1 victory for the U14’s against Broadclyst. Goals from Eva, Evelyn Richardson Miller and Lucy O’Connell helped them progress to the next round.
The U12 Youth side are also in the draw for the next round as they eased past Sidmouth.
Also through are the U10’s as they came out on top against Culm Sampford. Esme Armitage, Margot Bedford and Poppy May got the goals.
The final game of the weekend saw the U18’s maintain their unbeaten start to the season away at Sidmouth.
They had to settle for a point though as the game ended up two apiece. Greg Mildon and Joe Hopkins got the Crediton goals.
