BOTH Crediton United FC Youth Under 9’s sides were recently involved in Exeter and District Youth League Cup semi-finals.

Firstly the Vipers side hosted Moors Youth in front of a large crowd at Lords Meadow. Early first half goals from Billy Dymond and Seb Roche put the Crediton side in control.

Despite some early second half chances, Vipers could not get the much-needed third goal.

A goal from Moors Youth half-way through the second half, made for a very tense end to the game, but some superb defending from the home side saw them through to the final with a 2-1 victory.

The following evening saw the Cobras side travel to Axminster to play Feniton Youth Sharks in the other cup semi-final.

Making the long journey on a school night, with just the minimum amount of players was never going to be an easy task but Cobras, after another very tight game and an excellent team performance, ran out 2-1 winners with goals from Lucas Verrier and Alfie Greenwood.

This has now set up an exciting all Crediton Youth final to be played on Sunday, May 5 at Tiverton Town FC with a 9.30am kick off.

With Crediton Youth Under 16’s facing Okehampton Argyle in the Plate Final the day before at Ladysmead with a 6.30pm kick off, it makes for a busy weekend for the club.
