THE playing fields at Lords Meadow were once again a hive of activity during the weekend of June 8 and 9 when Crediton Youth FC hosted its annual Six-a-Side tournament.
During the weekend 189 sides took part from across the South West.
As always the club would like to thank the many businesses that sponsor and support the event, especially A and S Paving and Crediton Dairy, the main sponsors.
Special thanks must also go to Crediton Rugby Club for all its assistance with the field for car parking.
The tournament takes many months of planning and, under the guidance of club officers Adrian Harvey and Sabrena Philp, everything came together as the tournament once again ran really smoothly.
There were many great compliments from visiting sides on the tournament and in particular the good standard of refereeing. Congratulations must go to Rob Stoyle and his team of officials for their involvement at the weekend.
The club would like to thank all the parents and volunteers who helped during the weekend.
Special thanks must also go to the Crediton Lions members who helped out with parking on both days.
The club had one winner as the U15’s Titans won its age group. It was not to be for the U14’s A who lost out in their final to WBB. The U8 Panthers also lost out in their final to Marine Academy Juniors from Plymouth.
With many Crediton Youth sides making the quarter and semi-finals it was once again a great weekend of football at Lords Meadow.
It was a special weekend for the players and parents of Aberdare Town FC who were on tour in Devon and won the U11 girls age group.
