TEAM Isca Netball Club have secured a £1,000 donation from local housebuilders.
Persimmon Homes South West presented a cheque to the team at their regular venue, Exeter University Sports Park, earlier this month after the club applied to the developer’s Community Champions scheme.
Team Isca was established in 2016 and welcomes new members of all abilities and ages above 15. They play in the Exeter and District Netball League and, this season, will be playing in Division Five.
Persimmon has a significant presence in both Exeter and nearby Cranbrook, as well as having its South West headquarters based in the historic city.
Persimmon’s Community Champions scheme sees the company spend more than £700,000 each year on local organisations across Britain every year.
Other recent recipients in Exeter include Hospiscare and Ladysmith Infant and Junior School.
Commenting, Stacey Harris – Persimmon Homes South West Sales Director – said: “Persimmon is always happy to support local organisations like Team Isca that deserve funding to continue to offer what they provide the community.
“Team sports is a great way to keep fit both physically and emotionally, and we would love for residents in our new developments and the future generations that follow to have the chance to play for such a great club.”
Justine Brooker of Team Isca Netball Club added: “We’re delighted to have secured this funding for Team Isca and thank Persimmon for choosing us.
“The club is a growing group that just love playing netball with friends, and are proud of offering for different age groups and abilities.
“The donation will help us buy new equipment and quality facilities to keep our modest club together and further improve our game as we aim to climb the league.”
