FESTIVAL Week at Downes Crediton Golf Club began on Monday, August 5 with a Seniors' open.

Winning Division One was Pete Russell with 40 points and Division One away winner was A Wye with 37 points.

Home Division Two was won by Brian Johnstone with 41 points and away Division Two was won by Paul Grensmith with 36 points.

Crediton's Edward Copp won Best Over 70's with 37 points

The Pro-Am meeting on Wednesday saw 20 of the region's top professionals bring a team of amateurs to compete at Downes.

Joint first in the professional event was Crediton's Barry Austin and Andy Beal from Salisbury and South Wilts GC with a score -1.

Winning the team was Neil Mossman, Bob Tye and Matt Davy with professional Andy Beal, with a score -13.

The Ladies Open Day on Thursday was won by the Bude team consisting of Georgia Price, Collette Burgess and Judith Smith with a fantastic score of -10.

In second place with a score of 69, was the Exminster team of Luci Lacy, Helen Soper and Amanda May.

The Texas Scramble on Friday saw Crediton's Paul Ezard, Rick Eidam and Steve Lay take away the winner's prize with a score of -7.

In second place with -6 was Crediton's David Sims, Stuart Brealy and Bill Tucker.

The Creedy Cup, a 36 hole open, was played on Saturday and winning on countback with a score of -18, from Bude, was Tim Greenslade, Dan Knight and Martin Jewell.

Second, also with -18, was Maurice Curtis, Ben Rowe and Ben Marchant

The mixed open was played on Sunday and winning with a score of 77 points were Dennis Wright, Peter Coles, Annet Coles and Lyn Parry, 2 Richard Pascoe, Mark Shears, Lesley Pascoe and Hilary Richards 74pts.
