CREDITON Tennis Club’s winter season (2019-20) came to an abrupt end with the shutdown in March.

The club was not able to return to the tennis courts at Lords Meadow until this September.

Thanks go to Sandford for allowing the club to play on their court in July and August.

It was there that members were thrilled to see Martin Comont, club president, play tennis on his 90th birthday. A good night was had by all.

Martin started the Crediton club in the mid 1970’s and was the chairman for very many years.

He regularly supports all club events and turns out to watch the league teams play home matches.

The winter sessions for the coming season start on September 13.

The club plays at Lords Meadow on Sunday mornings from 10am, with the season continuing until the end of March. During the winter the club runs a mixed team in the East Devon League and a men’s team in the Exeter and District League. In normal years it also plays in the summer leagues.

Both teams had some very good wins last winter on the newly repainted surface at Lords Meadow.

New members are always welcome, even if they have not played for some time. Why not go along and join in a club session.
