MEMBERS of the Crediton and District Swimming Club were extremely pleased when, on September 1, following the reopening of the Lords Meadow Leisure Centre, they were able to resume training.

As with many other clubs and activities through lockdown, the Club ceased activity and swimmers were unable to train and practice as normal.

Some swimmers made the best they could of local rivers and the sea to keep up some fitness, but it was a huge relief when the pool itself finally reopened.

Training is not the same as it was before the start of the Coronavirus pandemic, but the swimming is of course the same, if a little more exhausting than before!

Procedures have been put in place by both the Leisure Centre and the Swimming Club to ensure the safety of Club members and staff, and also adherence to the government rules and the rules set out by Swim England.

Having now been back to regular training sessions for a month, and returned to a “new normal”, the Club is now in a position to welcome new members at both junior level and at masters level.

The Club would be pleased to hear from swimmers in the surrounding area that would be interested in becoming new members of this friendly and inclusive Club.
