FOLLOWING the launch of Active Mid Devon, Mid Devon Leisure customers can now benefit from a new Mid Devon Active app.
The new app, available free to download, contains a host of features including: Booking and managing classes, View real time schedules, Join waiting lists and Set reminders.
The app works alongside Active Mid Devon’s new online booking system, which launched last month and is available on the activedevon.com website.
By using the app or online booking system customers will have greater control of their own Active Mid Devon journey and will be able to explore classes, monitor swimming lesson progress, pay online and check class availability.
Andy Mackie, Operations Manager for Leisure said: “Our Active Mid Devon journey only began last month but we have already taken more than 10,000 bookings (excluding block booking) in our first week and have welcomed lots of positive feedback.
“Now we have a new app to make booking our facilities and taking part in the healthy lifestyle activities we offer, even easier. Please take a few minutes to download the app and register online. It’s simple to tap, explore, book and enjoy.”
Active Mid Devon was launched by the Council last month. It marks a shift from Mid Devon Leisure to represent the Council’s wish to provide more than just leisure facilities, with a move towards encouraging healthy lifestyles through physical activity, health checks and socialising.
While already boasting more than 6,000 members, running more than 100 classes each week, and attracting tens of thousands of swimmers to its pools every month, the leisure staff are already busy supporting customers with their fitness goals.
But they do much more and staff at all three sites, in Cullompton, Tiverton and Crediton also undertake customer health checks, work with GPs on health referral schemes and encourage clubs to meet and socialise on site.
Mid Devon District Council feels its new Active Mid Devon approach shows customers that it offers much more than sports halls to hire and swimming sessions to attend.
You can download the app at the Apple Store and Google Play Store .
It says online booking (app and web) will be coming soon to non-members. For now, non-members should continue to book via telephone or in person.
