The Men’s Over 60s A team are certainly not having things their own way this season.
After being crowned champions for the past two seasons they are currently lying seventh out of 10 following two successive 6 - 2 defeats.
A slight change of fortune for the B team who have risen to 7th from 9th after a 4 - 4 draw was followed by an 8 - 0 thrashing of the side in second place!
Mixed fortunes for the C team who followed a 6 - 2 win with a 6 - 2 defeat and have dropped a place to fourth.
With so many National, County and domestic competitions going on at the moment it has been a struggle at times to get teams out for the friendly fixtures.
Thankfully all have been completed and there have been wins against Tiverton Borough, Honiton, Okehampton and Byeways in the past fortnight.
During the same period defeats were at the hands of Belmont, South Molton and Chagford.
Much of the action taking place on the green during this coming week will be internal as members combat each other in the Handicap, two wood and three wood competitions.
On Saturday, March 22, Crediton is hosting the Ladies Major Pairs competition where bowlers will be descending on our green from all parts of the County.
Always good to see members of the public watching at Newcombes and do remember it doesn’t cost much to become a Social Member.
