A LITTLE later than everyone else but the Ladies league is underway at Crediton Bowling Club.
Crediton enter two teams and both have started with a victory.
The Green team beat Ottery St Mary Gold 4 - 2 and the Yellow team defeated Feniton 6 - 0.
It has been a good two weeks for the Over 60’s A team with 6 - 2 victories over Topsham Blue which was followed up with the same score against Seaton A.
The side has moved up the table from seventh to fifth.
The B team have moved up to fourth even though they lost 6 - 2 to Ottery St Mary Buzzards. This was followed up with an 8 - 0 victory over St Thomas C.
The C team are up to third at the halfway point of the season following a 6 - 2 victory at Topsham White and then a home 8 - 0 whitewash of Madeira D.
It’s been a quieter time for the friendlies but those played all finished up with victories.
Playing away to Combe Martin the shot scores were 80 - 80 but Crediton won on three rinks compared with two for Combe Martin. Ottery St Mary were defeated 83 - 58 and Barnstaple Ashleigh Road 86 - 71.
Tomorrow, Friday evening sees the top eight bowlers in the County compete for Men’s 2 Woods Competition.
The winner of this goes through to the National Finals to be played later in the year at Leamington Spa. We wish Richard Ellis the best in his pursuit of the title.
