A RECORD of nearly 150 cyclists, of all ages and abilities, took part in the Sandford Syclepaths 2023 Sandford Slammer on Sunday, October 1.
The cyclists were able to choose from two distances, 59 miles and 35 miles and those who took part attended from far and wide.
In addition to serious cycling club members there were many amateur riders and there was also a wide range of cycles.
Two couples were on tandems and one cyclist was on, or rather in, his Alpha 7 velomobile.
The fun cycle ride began at Creedy Park, the home of Sandford Cricket Club, with the first cyclists setting off at 9am.
Entry was by donation to charity and the charities to benefit this year were Devon Air Ambulance and Crediton and District Playscheme for Children with Additional Needs.
This was the seventh Sandford Slammer and as per usual, cyclists were able to enjoy refreshments at Withleigh Village Hall.
It was another great event, which was enjoyed by all, thanks going to event manager Chris O’Connor and all the volunteer helpers.
