IT may not have happened for a few years but this year’s Crediton Crunch ranks among the best.
The Crediton Crunch is a multi-terrain run approximately 10k long which is 90 per cent off road using general footpaths, mowed grassland, private parkland, farmland and quiet country roads.
This year more than 170 runners from across the South West took part, meeting up for the start at the Lords Meadow Leisure Centre.
The race began at 10.30am and included one loop of the rugby pitch near the leisure centre before the runners left the area.
The race leader for the whole of the race was the first to return. He was Michal Lesniak of South Molton Strugglers MS with a fine run of 39 minutes and two seconds.
Hannah Richards of Exeter University Triathlon Club was the first female home at 45 minutes, 40 seconds.
All of those who took part received medals and a goody bag from the event sponsor, Ernest Jackson Ltd of Crediton.
Trophies were presented to the first, second and third males and females home as well as a team trophy and recognition for age categories.
There has been praise for the event organisers and marshals from the competitors.
The 1st Crediton Scouts provided refreshments for the competitors at the end of the run.
A donation from the day is to be made to the charity Hospiscare, which is the Ernest Jackson Ltd charity of the year.
The full results can be viewed on the Crediton Crunch Facebook page.
