A NEIGHBOURHOOD Plan that will influence future development in Silverton parish has gone out for a second consultation.
Following the submission of the Silverton Neighbourhood Plan to Mid Devon District Council and the initial six-week consultation period, which ran between January 18 and March 3, 2023, an independent examiner has concluded that Mid Devon District Council should repeat the consultation with the previously submitted documents, in addition to the inclusion of an environmental report.
This second consultation began on July 17 and runs until August 29 and submissions are now invited.
Comments that have previously been submitted to the Council will still be taken into consideration and there is no need for previous comments to be re-submitted.
The examiner has requested that following the consultation period there will be a public hearing, where the examiner will explore particular aspects of the plan in a greater detail.
Should the examination be successful, the Neighbourhood Plan will be subject to a local referendum.
If there is a majority vote in favour then the Neighbourhood Plan will come into force as part of the statutory development plan for the Silverton parish and be "made" (adopted) by the District Council.
Further information on the Submission Publicity Period, links to the submitted documents and how to comment on the Neighbourhood Plan is available on the District Council’s website: https://www.middevon.gov.uk/residents/planning-policy/neighbourhood-planning/silverton-neighbourhood-plan/ .
