DOZENS of colourful handmade flags are now on display in Crediton.

The flags have been placed above shops and businesses on the High Street and adjoining roads.

Each has been designed to represent a shop or group with the help of local artist Charlotte Turner.

They were installed by the Rotary Club of Crediton Boniface on Tuesday, May 28.

As much as 100 metres of bunting has also been hung around the Town Square.

This year marks the 11th year flags have been displayed in Crediton. The new tradition started in 2013 as a one-off event to adorn the town during the Crediton Festival.

The flags, which will stay up for around six weeks, have been made by local people from colourful ripstop nylon offcuts supplied by a hot air balloon company.
