FOR the past four years people living on Westernlea in Crediton have provided spectacular Christmas lights displays.

This Christmas was no exception, Crediton Hamlets Parish Council again deciding to give prizes for the best.

The lights display began in 2020 when it was organised by Mike Langhorne with his wife Jacqui.

Explaining how it all came about, Mike said previously: "In 2020 when covid hit, we just thought we would stick a letter through everyone's door and see if they wanted to co-ordinate our street lighting turn-on with our lights in a community 'moment'.

"Lots of people put up lights, it was really good."

House numbers in Westernlea go up to 90 and nearly everyone put on a display.

This year's winner was No 14, who received a £50 voucher for the Three Little Pigs, with second No 28 and third, No 45, who both received a box of chocolates each.
