DO you know someone who makes an outstanding contribution to the West Devon community?
If the answer is yes, then you can showcase their hard work, by nominating them for this year’s West Devon Borough Council Mayoral Awards.
The awards have now been running for more than 25 years.
During that time they have shone a deserved light on the individuals, groups and organisations who significantly benefit the Borough through their selfless actions.
The Mayor and her panel of judges, are looking for nominations in four categories:
• The West Devon Mayoral Award for Under 18s
• The West Devon Mayoral Award for Over 18s / Organisation
• The Mayor’s Green Award
• Long Service Award.
With climate change and biodiversity being one of the top priorities for the Council, The Mayor’s Green Award recognises those who are doing their bit to support the natural environment. Whether that be through recycling, improving biodiversity, supporting greener travel or anything that helps to address climate change.
The Long Service Award recognises those from across the Borough who have supported their communities, over many years.
Mayor of West Devon, Cllr Lynn Daniel said: “Supporting communities is at the heart of what we stand for here in West Devon. If you know someone who is doing wonderful things for the Borough, we want to hear about it.
“Selfless acts and hard work can sometimes go unnoticed, so it is important we give local people the recognition they deserve.
“If you know someone doing wonderful things, please take the time to tell us their story and put them forward for an award. We look forward to reading the nominations.”
Nominations for the West Devon Mayoral Awards close on Thursday, February 29.
